I'm on a vista computer, already disabled UAC. Followed instructions on pt website... same error everytime
Then tried net user postgres /delete, which led to --->" Internal account lookup failure: No mapping between account names and security IDs was done." error

Change the account name to "postgres2" then and try it. Do not change any other fields, just change the user name and enter the password in the fields provided.

Did this and am still getting the same message. I'm on XP by the way.
Just to clarify, do you enter "postgres2" into both the account field and the superusername field. I've tried both and neither worked.

You are getting this message because of the first window asking for a user name, the Service Configuration window. If postgres2 doesn't work, try postgres3 or 4 or whatever until you get one that does. LEAVE THE SUPERUSER NAME on the next window set to "postgres"

I've gone up to postgres10 and it's still not working. I changed the account domain to OFFICE2 as the original entry kept giving me errors. Would this have anything to do with it?

You don't change the domain, everything needs to be left at the default except you change just the account name field on the Service Config. window. What is the EXACT error message you are getting and after which window do you get it?

The original domain name worked this time. Got it installed. Thanks for your help.
