Lost hand histories after compacting

Postby fuel828 » Sat Mar 08, 2008 1:46 am

I just compacted my hand history database as well as my poker database, and when I checked my stats most (but not all) of my hand histories were missing. Why is this and how can I get my data back?

Thanks in advance.

Are you using Vista? If so, it doesn't sound like you are always starting PT using 'run as administrator'.

Go to your PT program folder. Do you have file names there that end with _backup?

I don't see any files like that in the poker tracker program file. I do have Vista but I am almost positive that I always start as the administrator.

Using Windows Explorer, go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder and click on the Compatibility Files link/button at the top of the window.

What files are in this folder? What are the names, dates and sizes of them? If you always run PT as admin, this folder should be empty.

I guess I must not have always run it as admin then because there are a few files there. The files are:

hhdb.mdb 2,184 KB 03/08/2008 at 1 AM
ptrack.mdb 3,908 KB 03/08/2008 at 1:30 AM
hhcopy.mdb 122,612 KB 03/07/2008 at 6 PM
ptrack_backup.mdb 195,558 KB 03/07/2008 at 6:30 PM

Copy that ptrack_backup.mdb file from the comp. files folder to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder.
Then rename it to ptrack.mdb and try to start PT again.

Are you saying you can't see the actual hand history text or replay some hands?? If so, then copy the hhcopy.mdb file from the comp. files folder to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder and rename it to hhdb.mdb

The problem is that the stats are gone. I should have stats for a few thousand hands, but after compacting I lost most of them.
