error using database caching for the first time

Postby djfl » Wed Oct 08, 2008 2:45 am

Hi. I've been using PAHUD for a while but have never taken advantage of database caching. I tried to set it up today...compiled and compressed both my PTH and PTO databases. I clicked "use database cache" and after hitting OK to start it, I instantly got an error message that said I believe "caching error"...then somethign about not being able to cache. After I OK'd the error message, I instantly got another message that said that caching was complete. I saw the message that caching is supposed to take a while. Have I done something wrong? I don't think that I have any cached database with PAHUD.

thanks in advance. I've had a few issues in the past and you guys've always provided instant support and I'm really greatful.

Are you using postgres databases?
What version of postgres?
If it's postgres 8.3 then the cache won't work as 8.3 is not fully supported yet by PAH.

If that's not the case, Please enable logging, reproduce the problem on a single table and play 30+ hands, and send the PAHud.log file via the Support system so that we can review your configurations and troubleshoot the issue.

I'm using the pokertracker default as far as database types...which means I think it's an "access" database. At least that's the default option that poker tracker says it's using when I go to "maintain database names".

do I have to convert to postgres?

No, you don't need to convert to postgres.

Please enable logging, reproduce the problem, and send the PAHud.log file via the Support system so that we can review your configurations and troubleshoot the issue.
